Strengthen Drug Safety for Kids

"About two-thirds of drugs that are prescribed for children have not been studied and labeled for pediatric use."
- Government Accountability Office Report on Pediatric Drug Research

Too often, drug companies are allowed to decide for themselves whether or not to conduct pediatric studies, even if the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specifically requests that they do so. These studies are important assessments of the safety and effectiveness of the drugs we give to children — and yet, pharmaceutical companies ignore 19% or more of FDA requests to study their drugs in kids.

We believe the FDA should have the authority to make concrete, enforceable demands of the drug industry. Only an act of Congress can grant the FDA this right for all drugs.

Tell your Congressperson today that you want a stronger FDA protecting you and your children.
