Take Action! Tell EPA Not to Weaken Standards that Protect the Public From Radiation!

The Environmental Protection Agency has recently proposed a revised radiation protection standard for the Yucca Mountain high-level radioactive waste dump in Nevada that will fall far short of protecting public health. This is yet again an example of regulations being made to meet an industry-desired end, not to truly ensure public health and safety. EPA's proposed standard would be the least protective radiation protection standard in the world, and disregards even the agency's own previous recommendations. If approved, this standard will ignore the scientific consensus on the health impact of radiation, as well as the many unresolved problems surrounding radioactive waste. It will set a terrible precedent; lowering the bar for radiation protection across the country.

Take action NOW - Urge the EPA to withdraw this rule, and to propose a standard that truly protects public health!
