The least protective radiation standard in the WORLD has been recommended – by our Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If implemented, the Yucca Mountain high-level radioactive waste dump in Nevada will be subject to regulations which:

   • Ignore scientific consensus on the health impact of radiation
   • Leave uncorrected current dangerous problems surrounding radioactive waste
   • Set a bar-lowering precedent for radiation protection across the country
   • Disregard EPA’s own previous recommendations
   • Respond to industry concerns rather than public safety

You can stop implementation of these substandard regulations by attending, in D.C., the public meeting scheduled for comment on this irresponsible standard. Public turnout at these meetings is key to stopping this standard from going forward! Attend and speak out against this unprecedented and outrageous proposal.
