Stop excessive and unnecessary Hours-of-Service bills!

See the traveler's alert.

Write your representative and tell him or her to oppose a new wasteful, repetitive bill that would postpone the enforcement of part of the new hours-of-service rules.

The new bill, introduced by Rep. Don Young of Alaska, would postpone until Jan. 1, 2006 the enforcement of a portion of the hours-of-service rules. But the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is already postponing enforcement of all the rules until Jan. 1.

Rep. Young’s bill is wasteful, unnecessary and could set a dangerous precedent of introducing more unnecessary HOS bills in congress to postpone the enforcement of other rules. Want to know more? Click here.
