Keep up the good work, Lexington!
The dedicated citizens of Lexington, KY are an inspiration to all of us working for water democracy. After they collected 26,000 signatures to be able to vote on local control of their water utility, Corporate Water Baron RWE/Kentucky American Water sued to stop the vote. In October, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled to cancel the election 26 days before voters were scheduled to go to the polls.
Members of Bluegrass FLOW, the citizens' group, continue to organize to win local control, and now have an opportunity to elect a city council that supports local, democratic control of water. Use the form below to send congratulations and words of encouragement to the members of Bluegrass FLOW and their chair, Foster Pettit, to keep up the good fight!
