Now, take a minute to thank them and let them know that you will continue to push them to pass stronger reforms including, an independent Office of Public Integrity and the disclosure of grassroots lobbying initiatives by fake grassroots organizations, called "astroturf" groups.

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for acting on my requests to pass real lobbying and ethics reform in Congress.

The past few scandalous years in Congress really shook my confidence in our government.  But because of your vote, and the historic passage of a very strong reform bill, I am very encouraged and hopeful that we are beginning a new era of transparency and trust.

However, I must admit that I am somewhat disappointed that the Senate did not pass two amendments which I feel are important anti-corruption measures: the one establishing an Office of Public Integrity and another requiring disclosure of grassroots lobbying.  I will be speaking with my representative in the House to urge those reforms be passed in the House along with the Senate reforms that you helped to pass.

Please do what you can to ensure that the provisions on the Office of Public Integrity and the disclosure of grassroots lobbying by fake grassroots organizations are in the final bill.

Again, I am grateful for your commitment to reform and your courage to change business as usual in Congress.  Thank you!
