CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM

Ney-Pence-Wynn Bill

Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH) has offered new amendments to the already terrifying Pence-Wynn Bill- the legislation attempts to unravel the limits on campaign finance reform established in Post-Watergate sessions.  For more details visit the "Show Me The Money" Bill

ETHICS IN GOVERNMENT

DeThrone DeLay

It took six months and a lot of your support to get the House Ethics Committee alive again after a partisan deadlock.  The shutdown of the Committee has prompted Public Citizen, along with its fellow watchdogs, to call for the creation of an Independent Ethics Commission.

Now, an investigation must begin into the apparent lobbyist-funded trips and campaign finance fiascos that Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay has reportedly been spending his constituents time on.

CIVIL JUSTICE

Asbestos

Public Citizen has been working for months against the Asbestos legislation in Congress which lets companies off the hook at the expense of the hundreds of thousands of victims of asbestos exposure.  This past month we sent out a Press Release with the facts and figures showing just how companies are benefiting from this bill!

Medical Malpractice

Medical Malpractice remains an important battle for patients’ rights against the greed of insurance companies.  Our latest Report  shows evidence that lawsuits are not the cause of insurance spikes for doctors- insurance companies are.
