Martin Shkreli’s Price-Gouging is Wrong, and He Should Immediately and Fully Reverse It
A Wall Street hedge fund multi-millionaire named Martin Shkreli recently started a company that bought the rights to a medicine called Daraprim — a critical medication for pregnant women, cancer patients and others who contract a parasitic infection from contaminated food or water.
The company then jacked up the cost of this life-or-death medication from $13.50 per pill to $750 per pill, an increase of 5,456 percent!
In response to overwhelming public outcry, Shkreli has begrudgingly conceded to lowering the cost. But he hasn’t said when or by how much.
