Tell Your Members of Congress: Protect the Johnson Amendment; Stop Secret Money Riders
Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are trying to do away with the Johnson Amendment — a longstanding rule that prohibits billionaires and corporate fat cats from turning their secret political spending into charitable tax write-offs. And they’re getting closer than ever to doing just that.
The financial services funding bill — up for a vote this Thursday — includes language weakening the Johnson Amendment, effectively unleashing Citizens United 2.0 on our democracy, as well as other anti-democracy provisions like blocking transparency of corporate political spending.
We need your help to push members of Congress to pressure leadership into removing all anti-campaign finance riders before it’s too late.
