If you choose to speak, may we suggest any variation of the following:
I oppose the EPA’s move to reopen the previously finalized review of fuel economy and greenhouse gas emission standards for cars and light trucks. Americans depend on the EPA to protect us from the harmful pollution that worsens climate change — and the corporate polluters who put their profits before the health of all Americans.
These standards reduce oil consumption and carbon pollution, and have already saved Americans more than $44 billion at the pump since they went into effect.
We need to keep moving forward and ensure that all cars and trucks are getting more efficient over time — it’s good for the environment, consumers’ pocketbooks and American energy security. Don’t weaken the vehicle efficiency standards.
