McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission, a case whose impact on our political system could be as damaging as Citizens United, was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court on Oct. 8, 2013.
In a nutshell, if the court rules badly in McCutcheon, it would pretty much do for individuals what Citizens United did for corporations. Specifically, those who can afford to do so could directly contribute nearly $6 million per election cycle to a single party and its candidates.
Help make history by planning a rapid response event to take place within a few hours of the McCutcheon ruling. (Note: Even if the court does not further roll back campaign finance laws, democracy is still under attack nationwide and we will still protest to demand a government of, for and by the people).
