Is our Democracy dead or just gasping for air?

Let’s gather together on January 21st to bring our Democracy back to life!

The principle of our government is, “...of the People, by the People and for the People,” but it has been undermined by corporate money in our elections and in our political process. The U.S. Supreme Court “Citizens United” decision was the final nail in the coffin. It’s time to return to a government that represents the will of the People, rather than the will of Corporate America.

Our event:

“Funeral 4 Democracy”

On January 21st, the second anniversary of the “Citizens United” decision, we will help to raise awareness of proposed legislation to amend the U.S. Constitution to limit corporate involvement in our political process and resuscitate our cherished Democracy.

We will gather together for a morning of inspiration beginning with a New Orleans-style, walking funeral procession, complete with banners and coffin of Uncle Sam, to a service with uplifting eulogies and compelling autopsy report in the shadow of the Federal Building. We will conclude by bringing Uncle Sam back to life with a rousing “call to action” to resuscitate our Democracy!

Join us for the opening processional or as an attendee at the service. We also welcome and encourage volunteers for set-up, banner making, marketing and promotion, etc.

No previous funeral experience required!
