State House Rally! Montpelier, VT - 3pm in Room 11

Join us to support Senator Ginny Lyons' proposed resolution calling for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United vs. FEC and eliminate the notion of corporate personhood on the 2nd anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling that allows corporations to spend unlimited funds trying to influence our elections. We'll also be celebrating successful efforts in fifteen Vermont towns to get this issue on the town meeting warning/ballot by the January 26th deadline! Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerrys will speak. Senator Lyons and Senate President John Campbell will address us as well as other members of the Legislature and leaders of the petitioning effort. Help claim democracy for people, not for corporations! Co-sponsored by: Public Citizen, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, VPIRG, Move to Amend, VT Peace and Justice Center, Common Cause VT, VT Businesses for Social Responsibility, Safe and Green Campaign, and Rural Vermont.
