GRAND RAPIDS, MI: Occupy the Courts

On the second anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s “Citizens United” decision, in conjunction with, members of Occupy Grand Rapids invite you to join them in demonstrating outside the Grand Rapids federal court from 4 to 6 pm on Friday, January 20, 2012. (This is completely legal to do.) The court is located in the Gerald R. Ford federal building-- 110 Michigan St. NW in downtown GR. We’ll have plenty of signs to carry, but feel free to bring your own. Bundle up, bring some hot chocolate… and we’ll make the statement that it’s high time WE THE PEOPLE take back our democracy and get our government working for EVERYBODY again! Occupy the Courts will be a one day occupation of Federal courthouses across the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., on Friday January 20, 2012. We will lead the charge on the judiciary which created — and continues to expand — corporate personhood rights. Americans across the country are on the march, and they are marching OUR way. They carry signs that say, “Corporations are NOT people! Money is NOT Speech!” And they are chanting those truths at the top of their lungs! The time has come to make these truths evident to the courts.
