McCutcheon Rapid Response Event
The U.S. Supreme Court has issued its ruling in the case McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission. In a nutshell, it pretty much does for individuals what Citizens United did for corporations. Specifically, those who can afford to do so could directly contribute up to $3.6 million per election cycle to a single party and its candidates. April 2, 2014 will now be remembered as the day on which the final nail was hammered into the coffin of U.S. Democracy. Since the political leaders of our Nation will now be chosen on the basis of how much was spent to buy their influence, the U.S. is no longer a Democracy, but rather a Plutocracy -- as the mega-wealthy will have unlimited access to and influence upon our law-makers. Join us in a rapid response event as we hold a rally in opposition to the selling of our Nation's future to the highest bidders.
