Take to the Seats: Battle in Seattle film opening now!
"Come to the Battle in Seattle!" The call spread nationwide.
By November 1999, 50,000 people converged to protest the WTO summit. History was made when a devastating plan to expand the WTO's reign of corporate globalization was derailed. This fall, will you take to the seats and create the next Seattle Surprise?
On September 19, an entertaining new film, Battle in Seattle, opens in select theaters. This full feature drama tells the story of a dozen characters whose lives come together during those historic days. Starring Charlize Theron, Ray Liotta, Woody Harrelson, and others, this is the film Big Hollywood doesn't want you to see.
Environmental, health, faith and labor activists across the country are now working to help deliver the Seattle Surprise Round II by hitting the seats!
This is a time when going to see a great film is also effective activism. By being in the seats in the film's first two weeks, you can help make sure this film comes to theaters nationwide and a new generation gets turned on to the joy, fun and power of the Seattle Spirit and how citizen activists can win over the power of the world's biggest corporations. Here's how you can help:
