The Obama administration has proposed new fuel economy and greenhouse gas standards for motor vehicles could result in the most significant climate action ever in this country. To find out what the American public thinks about the standards, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are accepting comments from concerned citizens. Use the simple form below to submit your comments.
The new standards would require cars and light trucks to reach an average of 34.1 miles per gallon and reduce carbon dioxide emissions to an average of 250 grams per mile in 2016. But automakers – even the ones bailed out with taxpayer dollars – are already fighting this effort to make them clean up their act. We need you to tell the agencies to keep the standards strong!
