Don’t Let the Senate Pass the Bank Lobbyist Act

The Senate is poised to pass the “Bank Lobbyist Act,” a major rollback of the modest Wall Street reforms passed into law in 2010 after the worst financial crash since the Great Depression.

Senators are being lobbied to pass this bill by the very bank lobbyists who finance their political campaigns.

We must drown out the noise of Wall Street lobbyists and make sure our senators know there's a political price to pay for siding with Big Banks.

I’m asking you to vote no on the deceptively named Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (S. 2155).

This bill ends special oversight of banks that received bailout funds and limits critical consumer protections.

It also would make it easier for racial discrimination in mortgage lending to go unchecked.

If history has taught us anything, for a sound economy and more stable markets, we need stronger, not weaker, financial regulations. Please oppose S.B. 2155.
