Tell Congress: Break Up the Wall Street Megabanks
Sign Our Petition Calling for a 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act
For more than six decades, a law called the Glass-Steagall Act stopped the type of Wall Street megabanks we have today from forming. Then President Bill Clinton repealed it.
The idea was simple — the everyday commercial banks where many of us store our checking and savings accounts shouldn’t be involved in the riskiest types of investments that gamble with our money and leave taxpayers on the hook.
Both the Republican and Democratic platforms support a 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act.
Let’s pass this bill before Wall Street recklessness triggers another meltdown.
